Overview
Test plots of Broom Crowberry, Corema Conradii, were burned by hand ignition to research what effect fire has on the regeneration of this plant community.

Air / Smoke Issues
Smoke impacts were minimal. Wind speed and direction was closely monitored during the burn to prevent vehicular impact along Marconi Beach Road.

Benefits of the Burn
Benifits gained were: Restoring and maintaining ecological integrity of the Heathland ecosystem, Help develop treatment methods to decrease the chances of catastrophic wildfire within the Seashore, providing training opportunities for wildland firefighters, improving public safety in the wildland-urban interface.
