Governor's Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP)
GOHSEP (formerly LOHSEP) leads, coordinates, and supports the Louisiana emergency management system, in order to protect lives and prevent the loss of property from all hazards.  Includes links to disaster recovery and assistance, aid programs, and voluntary organizations active in disasters.

Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA)
Because of the devastation caused by hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the Louisiana Legislature restructured the State's Wetland Conservation and Restoration Authority in December 2005 to form the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA).  The CPRA is now the single state entity with authority to articulate a clear statement of priorities and to focus development and implementation efforts to achieve comprehensive coastal protection in Louisiana.

Louisiana Disaster Recovery Foundation
The Foundation assists state citizens in need through a network of Louisiana charities, non-profit organizations and governmental agencies.  It also supports long-term family restoration and recovery by focusing on education, housing, health care, legal assistance and jobs for families whose lives have been altered by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Louisiana Recovery Authority
The Louisiana Recovery Authority is the planning and coordinating body that is assisting in implementing the Governor's vision for the recovery of Louisiana.  The authority will identify and prioritize the short- and long-term needs of the recovery.  The authority will seek out and value local input as it plans and implements the recovery.

Louisiana State Historic Preservation Office
The Louisiana State Historic Preservation Office is responsible for nominating buildings, sites, districts etc. to the National Register of Historic Places.  This office is a part of the Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism.

Louisiana Speaks
Louisiana Speaks is a multifaceted planning process, endorsed by the Louisiana Recovery Authority, to develop a sustainable, long-term vision for southern Louisiana in the wake of the destruction caused by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.  This work combines the efforts of many experts, stakeholders and citizens into a comprehensive approach: 1) Parish recovery plans by FEMA; 2) Local design charrettes; 3) The development of a toolkit for residential and commercial architecture; and 4) A long-term regional vision.  On the Louisiana Speaks website, all the latest events for Louisiana long-term recovery planning can be found on the Events Calendar.  From the website, you can view selected recovery projects on an interactive mapping application.

Louisiana Speaks Pattern Book
The Pattern Book contains patterns and techniques for building housing, neighborhoods, and towns at a greatly accelerated pace while remaining true to the values and traditions of the people of Louisiana. It also provides guidance on incorporating hazard-resistant design and improved construction techniques into the built landscape.

The official state website concerning hurricanes Katrina and Rita, established to provide the latest information and resources regarding relief and assistance provided by the state government for citizens affected by the hurricanes.  This continuously updated website holds information and a contact directory for the Louisiana Katrina/Rita Relief effort.

The official Web site for "The Road Home" features information about homeowner assistance, job opportunities with the program, frequently asked questions about the program and more. During the next few weeks, the site will grow to include more resources to help get homeowners safely on The Road Home.
