Workshop on Using GPS Technology in Acadia
Acadia National Park Education Staff will be offering a free three-hour field workshop on the use of Global Positioning System units at Acadia National Park’s Hulls Cove Visitor Center on Tuesday, May 12, from 3–6 p.m. and again on Thursday, May 14, from 3–6 p.m.

Acadia Carriage Roads Annual Closure - 2009
The carriage road system will be closed to all users until the roads thaw sufficiently to allow use without causing damage. The closure began on April 6, 2009, and is expected to last at least two weeks.

Peregrine Falcons Nesting - Valley Cove Area and Trails Closed
The Valley Cove Trail and area surrounding the cliff are closed to protect nesting peregrines.

Peregrine Falcons Nesting - Precipice Cliff and Associated Trails Closed
Peregrine falcons are once again defending a nesting territory on the Precipice Cliff. To protect these birds from inadvertent disturbance or harassment, areas in and around the Precipice Cliff, including the Precipice Trail, are closed to all visitor and operational activities.

National Park Service Selects Operator for Contract to Operate Wildwood Stables
The National Park Service (NPS) has selected Carriages of Acadia, Inc., to operate Wildwood Stables within Acadia National Park. The 10-year contract is effective beginning January 1, 2009.
