CS Shanghai is helping a Chinese project owner look for process instrumentation and control vendors who have operations in China to supply the process control system to their Municipal Solid Waste disposal project. However, their overall budget is about USD 400,000 including software and hardware as a DCS (Distributed Control System) or SCADA (Supervision Control And Data Acquisition) system.

In this project, system (equipment) vendors are asked to provide their control system (PLC) and in this particular case, the Chinese project sponsor needs a centralized control system to link all these individual PLCs to the central control room for the operator to supervise the overall system.

The project managers are aware of some of the big name companies in this systems controls/SCADA area, but according to the project owner, they may be a bit too expensive. Their goal is to find a U.S. suppler of technology that has operation in China to deliver a cost effective bid. The Chinese company is now approaching vendors and has asked CS Shanghai to provide some qualified vendors for their reference. They will issue the Invitation of Bid by the end of May.
