Jackson, Miss. - Disaster victims are urged to register with FEMA by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY: 1-800-462-7585 for the speech or hearing impaired. Registrations can also be made online at www.fema.gov. More than 115,000 Mississippi disaster victims have registered with FEMA and more than $104 million in disaster assistance has been approved.

Mississippi Department of Transportation officials report that repairs began today on parts of U.S. 90 and Interstate 10. Interstate 10 is open, but in some areas the highway only has two lanes open instead of four.

Commodities to counties to date:
  • 644 truckloads or 16,102,576 pounds of ice.
  • 599 truckloads or 1,940,760 gallons of water.
  • 350 truckloads or approximately 840,000 tarps.
  • 289 truckloads or 1,997,568 Meals Ready to Eat.

In Mississippi there are 115 American Red Cross shelters open with 11,063 evacuees. There are 143 patients and 306 family caregivers housed in seven Special Needs Shelters.
