A. Year II [8/00 – 7/01] Activities:

a) Continuation of ATLSS Viewer datasets development. Data will be collected from several sources based on end-users requests and implemented in the system at consistent format and projection.

b) First prototype verification. Series of meeting with ATLSS model experts and major federal and state agencies to show application design and functionality.

c) Prototype development. Iterative process of a) collecting end-users observations and evaluation to refine prototype requirement specifications, b) making appropriate corrections and changes to the prototype, c) re-evaluating prototype acceptance from end-users.

d) Prototype finalization. The first version of the ATLSS viewer will be released to allow end-users to evaluate the customized graphical interface and test functionality on "field". A set of CDs with application and data, and a user guide will be produced and distributed.

e) Viewer promotion. The viewer will be promoted in conferences and meetings by oral presentation and posters to allow potentially interested agencies or scientists to know and eventually use the system.

f) Training. On-site/NWRC site training on ArcView and ATLSS viewer (2+1 days).

g) Continuation of Viewer debugging and development leading to release improved subversions.

h) Continuation of users observations and suggestions collection. They will be used to define new system requirement specifications and database development and maintenance strategy.
