[D] Figure 6 is a map of Boone County, MO, that previously appeared in an Archives of Family Medicine article by some of the authors (Phillips, Parchman, and Miyoshi, 2001). This map overlays a community health center service area on census tracts that are shaded to show the proportion of adults who said they realized a barrier to health care access in the previous year. This relationship reveals several census tracts outside of the health center service area in which 9-27 percent of adults had access barriers. These census tracts may represent opportunities for expanding health center services.
