Public Liaison and Intergovernmental Affairs

The Office of Public Liaison and Intergovernmental Affairs creates and coordinates opportunities for dialog between the Administration and the American public to improve public awareness of and involvement in the Department and its work. We also provide international outreach support services to state and local elected officials in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and all other inhabited U.S. territories.

This office is the central point of coordination for domestic speaking engagements, briefings, and conference programs in Washington, DC and around the country. For more information, click on one of the boxes below.

Washington DC Programs

The Office of Public Liaison coordinates public programs at the U.S. Department of State and in the Washington, DC vicinity.

Please send an e-mail message to pawashingtonprograms@state.gov to discuss the possibility of scheduling a program at the U.S. Department of State or at a location within the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Regional Programs

When available, the Office of Public Liaison provides department speakers to address domestic public programs outside of the Washington, DC vicinity. To request a department speaker for an event outside of the Washington, DC metropolitan area, please use our online speaker request form.
