Junior Ranger Program - To be a Grand Canyon National Park Junior Ranger is a very special privilege and honor. After completing your Activity Booklet and attending a ranger program, you receive a certificate, get sworn in as a Junior Ranger, and get to wear a badge just like Park Rangers wear.

Explore, Learn, Protect: Be a Junior Ranger
The Junior Ranger program is designed to engage children and families in the stories embodied in their national parks. Grand Canyon National Park will offer kid-friendly programs throughout the day, special Junior Ranger Day programs offered in the morning and in the afternoon, a family sing-along just before the evening program and fun opportunities to learn more about what rangers do. Commemorative patches and pins will also be available to those who participate in the day’s special and kid-friendly programs. Teen Camp Programs: How do you get behind the scenes and into the wild at Grand Canyon? Participate in a camp for teenagers!You could ride the raging rapids of the Colorado River, participate in science field work, and learn from the experts about Grand Canyon's wild spaces and its intriguing human history. Programs vary in length and the content changes for each camp.

The view from Toroweap Overlook (North Rim), 3,000 vertical feet above the Colorado River, is breathtaking; the sheer drop, dramatic! Renowned Lava Falls Rapid, just downriver, can be seen and heard easily from the overlook. This remote area is located on the northwest rim of the Grand Canyon.
