May 12: ‘Families Coping’ Town Hall Meeting
Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, appearing on a panel of experts at a virtual town hall meeting on WTOL-TV (Channel 11), urged constituents to call her office if they need help with financial issues such as unemployment, Social Security and home foreclosures.  
 
May 11: Cracking Down on Predatory Lending

Congresswoman Kaptur said she is hopeful the U.S. Senate will act quickly on legislation that curbs abusive practices and predatory lending in the mortgage industry.  “Thousands of Ohioans have lost their homes to foreclosure due to predatory lending and abusive practices,” she said. “Enough is enough.”

Seven cases of swine influenza A (H1N1) virus infection have been identified in Ohio. The virus is contagious and spreads from human to human. Government investigators continue their attempts to determine the source of the infection.
 
May 1: Chrysler's Future
After speaking to President Obama by telephone on Thursday, Congresswoman Kaptur expressed confidence that Chrysler will emerge from bankrutpcy as a stronger company.  Kaptur said she urged the president to consider defense procurement and use of the tax code as means to stimulate demand for Chrysler products.
