May 14, 2009: Congressman Gonzalez Supports Investments in 21st Century Green Schools
Washington, DC- Today, Congressman Charles Gonzalez (TX-20) voted to provide schools with access to funding for modernization, renovation and repair projects under the 21st Century Green High-Performing Public School Facilities Act.  The bill invests in our schools to boost our economy now and help prepare our children for the jobs of the future -- building on the efforts of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

May 7, 2009: Congressman Gonzalez Helps to Stop Abusive and Predatory Lending Practices

Today, Congressman Charles Gonzalez (TX-20) voted to curb abusive and predatory lending through the Mortgage Reform and Anti-Predatory Act of 2009.  The bill outlaws many of the fraudulent industry practices that marked the subprime lending boom, and focuses on protecting consumers, reforming our financial system, and demanding accountability.
