This figure uses data for AIDS cases diagnosed during 1998–2005 to depict the survival of persons whose diagnosis was made during that time. Survival (the estimated proportion of persons surviving a given length of time after diagnosis) increased with the year of diagnosis for diagnoses made during 1998–2005. Year-to-year differences were small during 2000–2005.
