Visitors explore Balanced Rock |
|
Arches is a great family park. The rock formations delight kids as well as adults, and hiking trails provide many opportunities for children to get out of the car and explore the arches up close. Kids also enjoy the short interpretive talks and walks offered spring through fall. Stop at the visitor center to check current schedules, and take some time to view the exhibits and perhaps the park's orientation video.
Junior Ranger Program
Free Junior Ranger booklets are available at the visitor center. Filled with fun activities, these books reveal the wonders of Arches to kids and parents alike. By completing five or more exercises, participants earn a Junior Ranger badge and signed certificate. Activities are designed for ages 6 to 12.
Family Programs
Come join a family program offered twice daily June through mid-August. Everyone in the family gets involved with fun, hands-on activities about nature. Kids who participate will earn a Junior Ranger badge and certificate.
Family Programs will resume in 2009.

Did You Know?
Feeding wildlife can be very detrimental to their health. It can destroy their natural ability to find food and create a dependency on humans. Animals that develop such a dependency often become aggressive toward humans and must be relocated or even killed.
