Natural Resource Volunteer Opportunities
Prairie Seed Harvesting - On June 4th, July 2nd, September 3rd, and October 1st help the staff harvest prairie seeds from 9 a.m. to noon. The seeds collected will be used to restore bottomland prairie areas at the preserve. Volunteers should wear appropriate clothing, wear sturdy shoes and sun hat, bring drinking water, and wear bug spray. Training will be provided by the staff before the activity begins.

The Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve is a partnership between the National Park Service, The Nature Conservancy, and the Kansas Park Trust. All work together to preserve and protect the tallgrass prairie ecosystem, while educating the public about its importance.
