Exhibits Technical Assistance Program

"Experience Shenandoah National Park" exhibit at the Dickey Ridge Visitor Center. The exhibit provides multiple opportunities for hands-on interaction through the use of a tactile topographic model, tactile natural history models, and a variety of low-tech interactive exhibits.

The Exhibits Technical Assistance Program provided by Harpers Ferry Center offers a greater variety of ways to develop exhibit projects and customize them to your park's needs. By addressing the unique requirements of each park, and increasing the involvement of park staffs in the exhibit process, this program can assist parks with a wide variety of their exhibit needs.

What the Program can provide:

  • Primary point of contact for all inquires regarding the planning, design, and fabrication of exhibits.
  • Assistance in defining the scope of your project.
  • Consultation and recommendations for solutions on a variety of exhibits needs.
  • Answers to questions regarding the use of NPS IDIQ contracts, recommendations for selecting the appropriate IDIQ contractors, and sample contracts. NPS Servicewide IDIQ Contracts »
  • Access to contracts for exhibit planning, design, and fabrication services, plus contracts for special services such as plant and animal models, writing and research, and many other exhibit-related fields. HFC Media IDIQ Contracts »
  • A specialist to answer your questions, provide expert advice, and to work with you in developing your media requirements.
  • Review and comment on preliminary, concept, and final plans, and on cost estimates.
  • Evaluation on exhibit drawings and planning, design, and fabrication specifications.
  • Copies of work, technical specifications, and government estimates.
  • A liaison between the park, contractor(s), and Harpers Ferry Center media and contracting personnel.
  • Assistance in resolution of Resolves technical problems that occur between parks and contractors.
  • IDIQ contractor's performance for quality and competency.
  • Involvement in the task order process until completion.
