AHRQ Awards New Research Infrastructure Development Initiatives

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) has awarded nearly $3 million for nine new research initiatives designed to build and strengthen the Nation's research infrastructure.

The The Minority Research Infrastructure Support Program (M-RISP) will increase the capacity of institutions that serve racial/ethnic minorities and their faculty to conduct rigorous health services research. Almost $1.2 million will go to three educational institutions that serve minorities in Hawaii, Tennessee, and Texas. This is an open grant solicitation.

The The Building Research Infrastructure and Capacity Program (BRIC) will enhance the competitiveness for research funding among institutions located in states where successful applications for funding has been historically low. Over $1.7 million for six projects will go to institutions in Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Jersey, Utah, and a consortium involving Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming. This is not an open grant solicitation at this time.
