Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument lies in the middle of the scenic Gila National Forest. State Route 15 winds its way up from Silver City and frequently offers breath-taking vistas interspersed in a lush forest. Isolated Cliff Dweller Canyon, unspoiled by highways or other modern development, offers a glimpse into how the area may have appeared at the time the cliff dwellings were occupied - 700 years ago.
