ATSDR Releases Final Public Health Assessment on the Willow Grove Naval Air and Air Reserve Station Site in Willow Grove, PennsylvaniaThursday, June 20, 2002 Geographic Location: Willow Grove, PAWhat: The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), a public health agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, recently released its final public health assessment on the Willow Grove site in southeastern Pennsylvania. This site contains two adjacent military installations, the U.S. Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base and the U.S. Air Force Air Reserve Station. On the basis of a review of available environmental information, ATSDR determined that no contaminants were present on or near the site at levels of public health concern. ATSDR recommends that the Navy and Air Force consult with ATSDR if future monitoring or site investigations identify pathways of contaminant exposure that might result in adverse health effects.
