Public Availability Session to Hear Community's Health Concerns about Former Amoco Neodesha Refinery Site Neodesha, Wilson County, Kansas

What: The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), a public health agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will hold a public availability session on July 16, 2002. The session is to provide community members with an opportunity to discuss any health concerns that they believe may be related to the Former Amoco Neodesha Refinery site in Neodesha, Wilson County, Kansas.

The public availability session format allows individual community members to speak privately with an ATSDR representative. The session will be at the W.A. Rankin Memorial Library at 502 Indiana St. in Neodesha from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Background: ATSDR is the principal federal public health agency involved with hazardous waste issues. ATSDR identifies persons who might be exposed to hazardous substances in their communities, determines whether they have been harmed by their exposure, and recommends actions that need to be taken to safeguard public health in the community.
