Resource sharing is a method of acquiring materials not held at the home library. Library personnel will verify citations and attempt to locate the desired item through another source. This service enables most people to obtain what they need to conduct research. If you do not find needed materials within NWRC's collections, please notify the librarian.
Interlibrary loan (ILL) is a means by which a library requests material from, or supplies material to, another library. The purpose of ILL as defined by the Interlibrary Loan Code for the United States is to obtain, upon request of a library user, material not available in the user's local library. ILL transactions with libraries outside of the U.S. are governed by the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions’ International Lending and Document Delivery: Principles and Guidelines for Procedure. Supplying material through ILL helps to provide access to collections around the world. ILL is intended to complement local collections and is not a substitute for holdings intended to meet routine needs.
Document delivery transactions are defined here as arrangements with commercial document suppliers for fee-based services.
To initiate a request, fill out a request form (also available through the NWRC Library) or provide copies of bibliographies or database printouts. Complete and accurate requests prevent undue delays in processing.
