DENALI SPRING ROAD OPENING UPDATE FOR:  5/7/2009

SRO Crew Members Currently On Duty:  Hockin, James. Pearson, Nagy, Robinson, Beltran

Todays Crew Work Locations:  Crews reached Eielson VC yesterday !! mile 66 and are headed west today

Aufeis Depths: No ice in this area

Snow Depths:  2'-4' average to Eielson VC, moderate drifts surround the building,  2 1/2" of fresh snow at Toklat yesterday morning

Steam Crew Locations:  Working west of Toklat

Public Access Open To Mile:  Teklanika gate at mile 30

Today:  Partly cloudy. Highs 45 to 50. Variable winds less than 15 mph.

Equipment Status:  D-7 carrier roller has been repaired and the dozer is now back in service, 143 grader will no longer be used during this SRO. new JD grader will take its place for the duration of road opening

Notes/Observations/Comments: The mile 4 soft spot has tried up and has resurfaced and is now back to two way traffic. Crews continue to ready the road for bus training traffic.
