Built in 1930 as the third building on the grounds of what was then known as the Woodmont Rod & Gun Club, Woodmont Lodge and its property are owned by the state of Maryland. Under a management agreement with the Izaac Walton League, the Woodmont Club uses the property for six months each year. It is only open to the public on two Saturdays - one in the spring, and another in the fall.
Conservation organizations will display information while volunteers answer questions and describe some of the vivid history of the property.
Directions: Interstate 68 Exit 77. Turn on Woodmont Road, approximately 6 miles to lodge entrance lane on left.

above the Potomac River in Washington County, this open house affords
visitors an opportunity to tour a Maryland conservation landmark,
while hearing stories of the early days of conservation and wildlife
management in Maryland.
