Brief Description:
The purpose of the Collaborative Neurological Sciences (CNS) Award is to encourage collaborative research investigations among
scientists at minority institutions and grantees from leading research laboratories that have NIH or equivalent grant support
to conduct neuroscience research. It is envisioned that funding from the CNS Award will lead to joint research efforts and
publications, shared research instrumentation and resources, exchange of research techniques, and other scientific activities
to enhance the research capabilities of applicants at minority institutions to successfully compete for independent research
funding during the performance period of award. The nature and scope of these scientific interactions should promote better
opportunities to educate and prepare students and fellows for productive research careers in neuroscience.
