Anchorage, AK -- Federal and state agencies continue working in partnership to help Alaska residents who had damages or losses during the Nov. 3-10 earthquake and aftershocks. Total assistance today exceeds $1,600,000.
The following is a summary of ongoing response and recovery efforts since the Nov. 8 Presidential disaster declaration:
Individuals in the declared area have until Jan. 17, 2003 to register for disaster assistance and may do so by calling the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) toll-free number 1-800-621-FEMA (3362); and TTY: 1-800-462-7585 for the hearing- or speech-impaired, Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Alaska Standard Time.
