Anchorage, AK -- Residents and business owners in Kenai Peninsula Borough who were affected by severe storms and floods from Oct. 23 through Nov. 12 may get the answers they need plus counsel about ways to recover from the disaster at Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) that will open Saturday, Dec. 7, in Seward and Ninilchik and Friday, Dec. 11, in Homer.
The DRCs operated by the Alaska Division of Emergency Services (ADES) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will be located at:

Applicants may receive one-on-one assistance at the DRCs. Disaster victims are encouraged to apply before going to a DRC and as early as possible via FEMA's toll-free registration number: 1?800?621?FEMA (3362) and 1-800-462-7585 (TTY) for people who are speech- or hearing-impaired. Register between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Alaska Standard Time, any day of the week including Sunday.
Representatives of state, federal, and voluntary agencies, including loan officers from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) who will explain SBA's low-interest disaster loan program, will staff the DRCs. Hazard Mitigation experts will provide information on ways to reduce effects of flood disasters on homes and buildings. Other representatives will be there to explain other state and federal disaster assistance including FEMA's Individual and Households Program.
Financial assistance is not provided at these centers.
