OLYMPIA, Wash. -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) urges any residents recovering from the effects of the recent severe winter storm, landslides, mudslides, and flooding, who have registered for assistance and have questions or concerns about disaster-related needs, to call the FEMA toll-free number 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) (TTY 1‑800‑462‑7585) and select the Helpline option. Residents can get constant, important information.
It is important to stay in touch with FEMA by using the Helpline to check on the status of an application, to update contact information, to change an inspection appointment, to update other application information, or to ask other recovery- related questions. English, Spanish and other multilingual recovery specialists are available to answer your questions.
The first step in getting disaster assistance is to register with FEMA. Calling the county emergency manager does not register you. You are registered only if you have received a 9-digit number from FEMA.
Residents in the declared counties of Benton, Cowlitz, Clallam, Grays Harbor, King, Kittitas, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, Pierce, Skagit, Snohomish, Thurston, Wahkiakum and Whatcom can register for assistance or obtain general disaster information on the FEMA website, www.fema.gov, or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) (TTY 1‑800‑462‑7585).
