DANBURY, Conn. -- Federal, state and local officials have worked together for the past month with the shared goal of helping Connecticut recover from the high winds, heavy rains and flooding brought by Tropical Storm Floyd.

"Since the September 23 declaration," Federal Coordinating Officer Sharon L. Stoffel said, " $1,165,473 in disaster assistance has been approved to help state residents and business owners in Fairfield, Hartford and Litchfield counties in their recovery."

"In addition, federal Public Assistance disaster funds were made available on October 18 to municipalities and eligible non-profit organizations in Fairfield and Hartford counties," State Coordinating Officer John T. Wiltse said.
