Reconstructed Guard Tower #8
NPS Photo
Guard Tower # 8 was reconstructed in 2005. A dedication ceremony was held on September 17, 2005, to honor the memory of confinement experienced by Manzanar internees. The reconstruction was made possible by a generous donation by the Friends of Manzanar.

Friends of Manzanar works with the National Park Service and other interested groups to preserve and restore the Manzanar site, and to interpret its stories, resources and lessons, for this and future generations.

We have helped Manzanar Reconstruct a guard tower, restore historic landscaping, and add to its collections.

Please help us do more!
