Today, valley wide parents and school staff will receive a recorded message from Dr. Bob about the how Swine Flu may be affecting them and their families. Dr. Bob is seeking to address the natural concern staff and parents have about recent events.
In addition, we at the Maricopa County Dept of Public Health seek to make resources available to eduators that will aid in our joint effort to clarify and promote what steps we all can take to stop the spread of ANY disease.

Current level of influenza pandemic alert raised from phase 4 to 5
Based on assessment of all available information and following several expert consultations, Dr Margaret Chan, WHO's Director-General raised the current level of influenza pandemic alert from phase 4 to 5. She stated that all countries should immediately activate their pandemic preparedness plans.
