Ed Ervin

Edward Ervin earned a BA in Humanities from San Diego State University in 1993. Edward has worked as a research assistant with Dr. Robert Fisher since 1995. Since 1991, Edward's work has focused on the natural history, ecology, and conservation of native amphibian species in Southern California, with an emphasis on the western Spadefoot toad, Arroyo toad, and the Red-legged frog. Current research topics include studying the influence of hydroperoid on amphibian assemblages in temporary lentic habitats, experimenting with various control and eradication techniques for non-native amphibian species (African clawed-frog, bullfrog), and developing adaptive survey methods to increase the reliability of detecting aquatic breeding amphibian species during low rainfall years.
