Grant Awarded to Increase Kidney Transplants
The Healthcare and Nursing Education Foundation has awarded The Living Bank a $25,000 grant to establish The Living Donor Program. Of the 100,000 plus people in the U.S. on the waiting list for organs, more than 78,000 need a kidney. Every day in this country, 12 people die because they cannot find a suitable kidney donor. Recipients who receive kidneys from live donors are more likely to survive without complications and for a longer time.
Tracy Clark, D.D.S., found his living donor from his extended family, a cousin who lives in another state.

The Tree of Life Program
|
The Living Bank is establishing a program to enhance the environment, honor organ donors and recognize their families. The “Tree of Life Program” will plant a tree to celebrate the selfless donation of the greatest gift - the gift of life.
We are seeking donor families to work with us to identify honorees. The Living Bank will provide the tree and facilitate the planting in a place of the family’s selection, such as a park or other community site.
Please contact: mspell@livingbank.org for information or to arrange for a “Tree of Life.”
