   NCCAM has relaunched its newsletter. Complementary and Alternative
   Medicine: Focus on Research and Care features a fresh new design and
   content more focused on research and patient care. It also includes an
   insert specially designed for consumers. The January issue features
   new statistics on CAM use and how to sort claims from facts about CAM.

   Two Lectures Added to Online Continuing Education Program»
   NCCAM has added two lectures to its online continuing education
   program. They are “Studying the Effects of Natural Products,”
   presented by Ram Sasisekharan, Ph.D. of the Massachusetts Institute of
   Technology and “Neurobiological Correlates of Acupuncture” presented
   by Bruce Rosen, M.D., Ph.D. of the MGH/MIT/HMS Athinoula A. Martinos
   Center for Biomedical Imaging.

   Webinar for Botanical Research Center Applicants»

   Dale Birkle Dreer, Ph.D., was recently appointed chief of the Office

   Stephen E. Straus Distinguished Lecture in the Science of CAM»
   On March 10, 2009, Dr. Sherwin Nuland, Clinical Professor of Surgery
   at Yale University School of Medicine and National Book Award winner
   will present "Chinese Medicine, Western Science, and Acupuncture."
   This inaugural lecture of the Stephen E. Straus Distinguished Lectures
   in the Science of CAM will be presented by NCCAM and supported by the
   Foundation for the National Institutes of Health with generous funding
   from The Bernard Osher Foundation.
