Jackson, MS -- State and federal disaster recovery officials issued these recovery assistance tips for residents of Jefferson Davis County who suffered uninsured or underinsured losses resulting from the April 6th through 25th severe storms, tornadoes and flooding. Jefferson Davis County was added June 6th to President Bush's original disaster declaration of April 24, 2003.

The essential first step is to call 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) to apply toll-free with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). This is the only way to obtain the federal/state disaster assistance you are eligible to receive. The number for the speech or hearing impaired is 1-800-462-7585.
