Don't flush Pills - Service Biologist Demonstrates Proper Disposal Method

Date Posted: March 31, 2009

Steve Alexander, an ecologist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Director of pharmacy services at Cookeville Regional, recently demonstrated how to properly dispose of unused medication. The demonstration is part of the SMARxT public awareness campaign led by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, American Pharmacists Association and Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America. The campaign is intended to help keep medicine out of the nation's water supply. The demonstration was covered by the Cookeville Herald-Citizen.
