JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- The Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) at the West End Recreation Center, 724 Union Blvd. in the City of St. Louis will end operations at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, 2008.  However, another DRC in University City is available for applicants to visit and is in close proximity to the West End Recreation Center.

For those who still may have disaster assistance questions after the center closes, help remains just a phone call away. Operators at the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA's) Helpline- 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 1-800-462-7585-  are available to answer disaster assistance questions, assist applicants who may want to check on the status of their application, and register disaster victims for assistance. Lines are open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Applicants can also register anytime at www.fema.gov. January 12, 2009, is the deadline to apply for disaster assistance for those affected by the severe storms, flooding and tornado that occurred during the period of Sept. 11-24.

Those who may have questions about low-interest loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) can call the SBA at 1-800-659-2955, e-mail to disastercustomerservice@sba.gov or visit SBA's Web site at: www.sba.gov/services/disasterassistance.

The DRC at the Centennial Commons Building, 7210 Olive Blvd., in University City, MO 63130 remains open with hours of operation 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays until further notice.
