Cedar Rapids, Iowa -- The Cedar Rapids joint federal/state Disaster Recovery Center is changing its hours effective July 1.

The center, located at Four Oaks Inter-Generational Center, 2100-1st Ave. NE will close at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The new hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (NOTE: The Center will be closed for Independence Day, July 4.) Assistance and information to Iowans who have experienced damages and losses from the flooding that occurred between June 3 and June 25 are available at the center. Representatives of state, federal and voluntary agencies are on hand to discuss disaster programs, including temporary housing, individual and family grants, and low-interest loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration for homeowners, renters or business owners.

If your home or business was damaged in the flooding that occurred between June 3 and June 25, register with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for assistance. The toll-free teleregistration number is 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (CDT), seven days a week. Those with hearing and speech impairments can register by calling the TTY at 1-800-462-7585.
