CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Iowans coping with the personal stress brought on by having to deal with the aftermath of storms and flooding starting July 2 now have a place to turn. The following counties have established individual Crisis Counseling referral numbers:

Referrals for short-term intervention counseling for disaster victims are available through the statewide Iowa Concern Hotline. Individuals living in counties not listed here may call 1-800-447-1985 to receive counseling referrals and other services. In this time of need, short-term intervention counseling is available to disaster victims through a coordinated effort between the Iowa Department of Human Services and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
The hotline is open 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week. Use of the hotline is free; all contacts are kept confidential.
