Disaster Recovery Centers Now Open In Three Counties

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Within days of the federal approval of disaster assistance to individuals and households, three Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) have opened in key locations, providing  face-to-face assistance to those suffering damage in the recent flooding.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency and the State Emergency Management Agency said the following DRCs will be open Monday, from 1 to 7 p.m. After that, the  hours will be from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., closed Sundays.

Visitors should register with FEMA prior to visiting the DRC. Register by calling FEMA's toll-free registration line at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362)   (TTY 1-800-462-7585) from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, or go online at www.fema.gov.  Registrants should use the name on their Social Security card when registering online.

The Presidential disaster declaration of March 19 for storms beginning March 17 now includes all of the following counties: Bollinger, Carter, Christian, Franklin, Greene, Iron, Jasper, Jefferson, Maries, Newton, Oregon, Phelps, Pulaski, Reynolds, St. Francois, Stone, Texas, Washington and Wayne.
