FEMA’s Essential Facilities Risk Assessment Pilot Projects – Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties

Resource Record Cover Image Thumbnail - socalhug_pilot_cvr.gif The Southern California HAZUS User Group (SoCalHUG) held a successful meeting on January 15, 2008, hosted by the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG). A multidisciplinary group from five Southern California counties attended the meeting. As part of this meeting, this presentation titled, FEMA’s Essential Facilities Risk Assessment Pilot Projects – Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties was presented by Hope A. Seligson of MMI Engineering. Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties in California have been selected for comprehensive multi-hazard HAZUS / Map Mod Risk Assessment projects. The on-going DFIRM updates provide an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the synergies between FEMA’s Map Modernization (Map Mod) Project and HAZUS. This presentation outlines the results of these projects.
