CATOCTIN MOUNTAIN PARK JUNIOR RANGER PROGRAM A self discovery workbook to be completed at the park Visitor Center and includes one trail activity. Park wildlife and cultural resources are explored through stories, fill-in the blank, puzzles, and games. A junior ranger badge will be awarded upon completion and review with a ranger of the workbook.The Junior Ranger Program promotes stewardship and protection of Catoctin Mountain Park, a unit of the National Park Service. Estimated time to complete the Program is approximately 1 hour for the workbook and 1 hour for the trail portion of the program. Ages 6-8 (pdf file) and Ages 9-11(pdf file).
The National Park Service also offers a Web Ranger program so even if you are not able to visit a national park you can still be a web ranger. This web-safe environment collects no personal information. Web Rangers complete an activity and receive a secret code word. After completing an adventure (5 activities) the secret words can be redeemed for a reward.
