Significant National Weather

South:
The National Weather Service is reissuing hard freeze warnings for most of Florida and southeast Alabama and Georgia. Temperatures of below freezing are possible in Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties this morning but are expected to warm up to the 60s later in the day. The rest of the south will see near to above seasonal averages from the upper 40s in northeast North Carolina to the 80s in parts of Texas, which may see record or near record highs.
West:
Rain and showers are forecast over most of California and over southeast Arizona and southwest New Mexico. Heavy downpours are likely in parts of southern Califonria. A scattering of light rain and snow showers is forecast in the interior Northwest with isolated showers and high-mountain snow showers in parts of northern Arizona, Utah, northwest Colorado, and western Wyoming. The freezing fog will continue in Washington, northern Idaho, and parts of Oregon. Another arctic land mass will move into Montana during the afternoon and evening with temperatures falling significantly as northerly winds develop.
Midwest:
Only a few snow showers or flurries are forecast from northern Minnesota to Michigan. Temperatures will be near to above seasonal averages with the central Plains 25-30 degrees above average. High temperatures will range from the teens in northern North Dakota and extreme northwest Minnesota to near 70 in southwest Kansas.
Northeast:
A few snow showers or flurries are possible over northwest Pennsylvania, upstate New York and northern New England. Westerly winds will develop over the region, especially New England, making the day feel colder than thermometers would suggest. High temperatures will range from 20 in extreme northern Maine to the low 50s in central Virginia. (NOAA, NWS, Various Media Sources)
