1.46 inches of precipitation, including 2.6 inches of snow, while
9.3 inches of snow fell in Cheyenne. About 6 inches of snow also
fell around Wheatland.
On this day in 1989 Scottsbluff reached a high temperature of 80
degrees, the latest 80 degree temperature of the year on record
there.
A bitterly cold arctic airmass spread across the region on this day
in 1916, and sent temperatures below zero as well as produced
3-8 inches of snow over many areas.
Nov 13: The 1916 arctic outbreak brought the coldest November
temperatures on record so far with lows on this date including 21
degrees below zero at both Cheyenne and Scottsbluff, and 25
below zero at Alliance, Nebraska.
Nov 14: A 4 day arctic outbreak released its grip on the region on this day
in 1940. Lows from 5 below to 15 below were recorded across
the Nebraska panhandle on this day. Snowfall totals for the 11th
through the 14th ranged from 3 to 9 inches across the area.
Nov 15: Cheyennes’ warmest November temperature was set on this day
in 1999 with a high of 75 degrees, while Laramie also recorded
their warmest temperature for November with a high of 70
degrees.
Nov 16: A very long standing record was set in Cheyenne on this day in
1875 when a low of 20 degrees below zero was recorded, 132
years ago!
Nov 17: Strong winds swept across the area on this day in 1994 with
Cheyenne recording a peak wind gust of 74 mph.
Nov 18: The latest thunderstorm on record for Cheyenne occurred on this
day in 2002 when a weak storm passed close enough to be
heard, though no precipitation was officially recorded.
