of 38 degrees, the temperature warmed 52 degrees to a high of 90. It is the
latest 90 degree temperature ever recorded in Scottsbluff.
A winter storm dropped a foot of snow in Rawlins, Wyoming on this day
in 1981.
Oct 17: Shirley Basin, Wyoming had a low of 2 degrees below zero on this day in
1996, along with 5.2 inches of snow.
Oct 18: Cheyenne saw its longest period with temperatures above freezing come to
an end on this day in 1981 with a low of 32 degrees. The last freeze before
that was on April 23rd, a period of 177 days that the temperature remained
above freezing. Scottsbluff had a low of 30 degrees, which ended their
longest freeze-free period on record at 195 days.

across much of eastern Wyoming with 2 to 6 inches across the Nebraska
panhandle. Up to 8 inches of snow was reported in Hemingford, Nebraska.

lasted for over 3 days, and by the time it finally ended on October 23rd,
Cheyenne had been buried under 23.1 inches of snow. Other total snowfall
amounts for the storm included 21 inches in Alliance, 18 inches in Scottsbluff,
and 16 inches near Wheatland.
Oct 21: The greatest daily October snowfall on record for Laramie occurred on this
day in 1972 when 8.3 inches of snow covered the city.
