A Wet Start to the Weekend

After a mild Friday across southeast Wyoming and western Nebraska, Saturday will be cloudy and colder with widespread rain at lower elevations and snow across the mountains.

An upper level storm system will move from the Arizona and New Mexico state lines this afternoon to northern New Mexico Saturday morning, then to northeast Colorado by Saturday evening.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop across far southeast Wyoming and southern sections of the western Nebraska panhandle this afternoon.   Lower elevation rain and mountain snow will become widespread tonight across much of southeast Wyoming and western Nebraska, and continue on Saturday.  The widespread rain will be across far eastern Wyoming and western Nebraska Saturday night and end from west to east Sunday morning. Snow levels will be around 8000 feet.

Rainfall amounts will range from 0.5 inches to 1.5 inches with significant amounts of snow above 8000 feet in the Laramie Range. 

After highs in the 40s and 50s at lower elevations on Saturday. Sunday will be warmer with highs ranging from the mid 50s to lower 70s.
