Whitehead Institute Board of Directors – The distinguished group is chaired by Charles D. Ellis.

Whitehead Institute Board of Associates – Members of Whitehead’s Board of Associates (BOA) support Whitehead's mission through personal philanthropy and by helping the Institute develop new relationships with individuals, academic institutions, foundations, and corporations in the United States and abroad.

Whitehead Institute Alumni – Many former Whitehead Fellows, postdocs, graduate students, technicians, and visiting scientists enjoy a great affinity with the Institute and show it yearly, with gifts to the annual fund.

Friends of Whitehead Institute – Many others, from all over the country, show their appreciation for the research done at Whitehead with annual contributions.
