Fisheries Monitoring Data |
The Fisheries Data Monitoring Branch collects fishery independent data from
commercial fisheries in the northeastern Gulf of Mexico and collects
fishery dependent data through interviews with fisherman, seafood dealers,
and processors to obtain quantity, price, and effort information.
Scientists also sample catches of commercially exploited species to
provide biological materials for analysis to determine size, fecundity,
sex, age, and other attributes of fishery species.
