David C. Page — Whitehead
Director David C. Page hopes to recruit the most creative
scientists to the Institute during his tenure.
Board of Directors — Chaired
by Charles D. Ellis, the Whitehead Institute Board of
Directors provides essential guidance.
Faculty
— Whitehead has a world-renowned faculty that
includes the recipient of the 1997 National Medal of
Science (Robert A. Weinberg); seven Members of the National
Academy of Sciences (Gerald R. Fink, Rudolf Jaenisch,
Susan L. Lindquist, Harvey E. Lodish,
Terry Orr-Weaver, David C. Page and Weinberg); five
Members of the Institute of Medicine (Fink, Jaenisch,
Lindquist, Page and Weinberg); and six Fellows of
the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (Hidde Ploegh,
Jaenisch, Fink, Lindquist, Lodish, and Weinberg).
Whitehead
Fellows — Designed to nurture future leaders
in science, the Fellows program provides five to seven
exceptionally talented young scientists with the rare
opportunity to set up an independent research program
as an alternative to a traditional postdoctoral position.
Board of Advisory Scientists
— The Board of Advisory Scientists comprises some
of the world’s most eminent biologists.
Board of Associates —
Members of the Whitehead Board of Associates serve as
ambassadors for the Institute, supporting the Institute's
scientific mission through personal philanthropy and
by sharing their leadership skills in science, business,
finance, education, communication and other fields.
Administration —
Vice President Martin Mullins and
others work to ensure that scientific staff members
have the support and resources they need.
Alumni — Scientists
who have worked at Whitehead—former Fellows, postdocs,
graduate students, technicians, and visiting scientists—stay
connected with the Institute through our alumni association.
