Become a Junior Ranger!

Being a Lincoln Home National Historic Site Junior Ranger is a special privilege and honor. Take a trip back to "yesterday," search the Lincoln neighborhood, color a train, learn about the underground railroad, and write about what it would be like to travel down the Mississippi River on a flatboat. These are just a few of the activities young visitors ages 4 to 12 may complete in our free booklet to become a Junior Ranger.

Did You Know?
In 1860, eleven-year-old Grace Bedell wrote to Lincoln suggesting he grow a beard to “look a great deal better.” Lincoln met Bedell on his way to Washington, giving her a hearty kiss to thank her for her idea. Lincoln Home National Historic Site, Illinois
