NMFS Opens Directed Fishing for Pollock in Statistical Area 610 of the Gulf of Alaska

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is opening directed fishing for pollock in Statistical Area 610 (between 159 degrees and 170 degrees W. longitudes) of the Gulf of Alaska (GOA) at 1200 hrs, Alaska local time, September 6, 2006, according to Robert D. Mecum, Acting Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.

This action is necessary to fully use the C season allowance of the 2006 total allowable catch of pollock specified for Statistical Area 610 of the GOA and is issued pursuant to 50 CFR 679.25(a)(2)(i)(C) and (a)(2)(iii)(D).
