NCI/Dana-Farber Science Writers’ Seminar: Blood-borne Cancers
What: National Cancer Institute (NCI) Science Writers’ Seminar Series at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, Mass. Many exciting advances have been made in treating a variety of blood-borne cancers. Please join us for an in-depth look at the latest scientific discoveries about this research. The seminar will provide perspective on timely issues such as the use of stem cell transplantation to treat certain types of cancer, the use of old therapies used in new ways to cure multiple myeloma, and the risk of a blood-borne cancer based on one’s family history. A tour of the Dana-Farber research facilities will be offered at the conclusion of the formal presentations. This seminar also can be viewed live or via an archived Web cast at http://videocast.nih.gov/.
